When to Leave a Setup Untraded

Passing on a clean-looking chart is part of the craft. Here is how we teach the pass decision.

When to Leave a Setup Untraded

Classroom culture sometimes rewards finding trades. Real accounts reward accurate rejection. During Weekly Setup Lab, members must present at least one chart they nearly traded and then passed.

Common valid passes include: unclear prior leg, invalidation that would force an oversized risk for the account, conflicting weekly and daily structure, and proximity to a known earnings or policy event that your plan excludes.

Document the pass with the same care you document an entry. Future-you will learn more from honest passes than from forgotten near-misses.

If your journal has no pass entries for a month, you are likely forcing setups to justify screen time. That is a process problem, not a market problem.
